Lot 40095 – 60 Lep, deep blue green on green used together with

60 Lep, deep blue green on green used together with 20 Lep, indigo blue, 1872-75 issue, on a 1878 double weight envelope from Alexandria (Tourkia) Greek P.O. to Cephalonia, both are tied by Alexandria c.d.s. (17-10-1878), Alexandria c.d.s. and “Charge” are alongside, the envelope is creased under the stamps but the 60 Lep appears to be in perfect quality.

Note: Covers from Alexandria Greek Post Office after the signing of U.P.U. Convention are extremley rare. In particular with combination with another value constitutes a tremendous rarity

A superb cover of the greatest rarity, it is dated a little time before the closing of the Greek P.O. of Alexandria, a real gem, (in Feldman April 1983 sale realised 20,700 SF+%) (VI. 58a).
