1938-53 3d Black & Grey perf. 13 on envelope sent to England tied by undated “POST OFFICE / MARITIME MAIL” machine cancel in RED, with censor cachet at lower left (Mayo type III), sent by Ascension’s medical office Surgeon Captain Perkins, the lack of a despatch suggests that the cover was forwarded to London via the Naval Fleet Mail Office at Freetown, Sierra Leone, ex Whitehouse
