1878 1/2d Die proof for lighter and more fugitive colours printed in rose lake on white wove paper (52x50mm), watermarked Small Star, overprinted “SPECIMEN” type 10, fine and very rare (SG Spec. DP67)
Note: A second example can be found in the Phillips collection with notes stating no more than two examples of each proof were printed. Illustrated in “The Line Engraved Halfpenny” by Messenger, fig.12 and front cover.
