EVEREST EXPEDITION – EXTREMELY RARE TRIPLE COMBINATION COVER

1924 (Jun 28) Envelope with blue Mount Everest Expedition label tied by the special MT. EVEREST EXPEDITION / TIBET / 1924″ cachet, in combination with Tibet 1/3t blue tied by Tibetan Phari obliterator as well as India 1911-23 3p grey pair and 1922 1/4a on 1/2a pair cancelled by Pharijong cds, reverse with further native cancel and Gyantse transit, an extremely rare combination

Note: The cover was self-addressed by F. M. Bailey, who was the Political Officer for Sikkim and Tibet, stationed in Gangtok (Sikkim), and was instrumental in ensuring that any political restraints imposed on the Expedition by the Tibetan government were overcome
