A RARE RECONSTRUCTED BLOCK1858 1d blue, dark shade, a rejoined irregular block of 14, composed of two horizontal strips of seven, including two partial transfer panes, types 8d-9-10-6-7c-8-9 / 14-15-11c-12-13-14-15, cancelled by Chachapoyas oval dotted hs (Lamy-Rinck type 24), several faults which hardly detract from this attractive, rare and significant assemblage in the daunting effort of reconstructing part of the plateNote: The first issue 1d is believed to have been printed in sheets of 160 stamps, 10 across and 16 down, and being composed of several transfer blocks of 20 including 19 types, and more than one printing stone was usedProvenance: Enrique Martín de Bustamante Catalogue ref: Scott 3
