FIRST DAY OF THE GAMES: 1912 (Jun 29) Envelope front sent registered within Stockholm with four 5ö tied by “STOCKHOLM / STADION” cds with the very rare “Stadion / N:r 5” registered label, paying the correct 5ö local rate and 15ö registration fee, initially incorrectly franked with an extra 5ö which was highlighted in pencil with ms note adjacent before being removed by the postman, very fine, ex , cert. This is one of the very few registered items from the Stadium and is the first example we have offered since we sold this item to the current owner in 2003. An exhibition showpiece of Olympic philately.
