1857-59 Post Paid 1d. red, a vertical pair displaying complete sheet margin at top, excellent margins on three sides, positions 2/5, cancelled by target cancels on 7.2.1859 envelope from Port Louis to Petite Savanne, with dispatch crown ‘MAURITIUS/GPO’ ds on reverse, pair removed and hinged to cover with crease between stamps not affecting the designs, an exceptional local destination

Note: The cover has no evidence of any village datestamp on receipt, which leads us to presume that Petite Savanne was a next door village to Grand Savanne, this being the main post town for the district of Savanne
