1854-57 Post Paid 1d red, horizontal pair, position 5-6, barely touched at right, complete to large margins in other respects, tied by very fine strikes of ’14’ numeral hs within circles to large piece of cover front, showing octagonal ‘PLAINS MAGNAN / FE2 1858’ hs at left, ‘MAURITIUS/GPO’ crown ds in centre, ink erosions affecting the dispatch datestamp and hinge adherences where the ink of the postmarks looks faded, one of two items recorded exhibiting this Plains Magnan hs
