1845 BASEL DOVE, bright blue, good to large margins all around, tied by double-circle cds BASEL 1 JANV 1848 on local folded cover from Montreux (dated 28 DEC 47), privately forwarded to Basel where it was put in the mail. A very rare example of a forwarded cover bearing a Basel Dove, illustrated on page 129 in the book “Baslertaube” by Werner Herold (SBK N°8a CHF 50’000+)
