Tikhvin: 1874 5k blue, complete mint sheet of 15, all from different hand-drawn types, with full margins, fresh, exhibition quality: see Imperial Russia Zemstvo Post, page 344, fresh, very fine & rare, ex. Ferrari & Fabergé (Chuchin 9, Schmidt 11) Note: Each of these primitively designed stamps was drawn separately by hand. Hence, there are many differences and particularities including inverted and missing letters, position 1 with “C” instead of “b”, position 12 with inverted “E” etc. Interestingly, all stamps were printed with the bottom inscription reading as a mirror image.
