Historical Archive of Pierre de Coubertin The fascinating archive has just been discovered and contain the following items: 1) “Ex Libris” for the Pierre de Courbertin library including a the original metal printing plate plus a series of the original labels, a postcard written and signed by Pierre de Coubertin addressed to the engraver of the Ex Libris plate (the message speaks of his satisfaction for the engravers work), etc. 2) Original design for the “XXeme Anniversaire du Retablissement de Jeux Olympique 1894-1914”, plus small card showing the design for the rings & printers proof for the rings, that were presented for the first time in June 1914 in Paris at the Olympic Congress 3) Correspondence between Justinien Clary, Pierre de Coubertin and Monsieur Lévy-Oulman regarding a religious matter, one letter written and signed by Pierre de Coubertin, another typed on Comité Olympique Francais letter headed paper, plus five letters or cards signed by Justinien Clary, including two 1924 Olympic letter headed paper and two envelopes An important and valuable assembly Estimate: € 30’000 – € 40’000
