1853-1944, Strong mint and used collection in a specialised hingeless album with few empty spaces, starting with, used unless otherwise stated, Queen Maria #1 5r brown two distinct shades, both with four margins, 50r green also with distinct shades, 1855 Dom Pedro 5r, Luiz imperfs 1862-67 complete, 1867-70 first perf series complete with two examples of the 240r lilac, one signed, followed by later embossed Luiz with better perf and paper varieties, 1881 50r blue mint, front-facing King Luiz enamel paper 500r black used and 500r purple mint, first King Carlos issues also with good paper/perf types mint, comprehensive provisorio ovpzs incl. ‘1893’ complete mint, etc. Everything else virtually complete, including 1894 Henry the Navigator complete used, 1895/1905 Carlos heads complete mint with both perfs on 500r, 1895 St. Anthony complete mint/unused, extensive Ceres incl. 1912/20 15cts plum mint, 1920 chalk-surfaced 50cts orange on salmon perf.12×11 1/2 mint, 1923-26 complete mint to 20e turquoise etc, as well as mint souvenir sheets from the 1940 Portuguese Legion onwards, etc, etc. Small faults/toning occasionally as to be expected, vast majority very attractive quality (Est. € 1’500/2’000) Catalogue
