1899 La Bourdonnais artist’s essay with cut-out head superimposed on frame in blue, value 18 cents instead of 15c, details picked out in Chinese white, amendments noted include accent on “Mahé” and head shfted to the left, dated March 28th 99 and approved 11/4, also a working Die Proof of the finished 15c in black on thin buff card.
