COLLECTIONS: 1871-1940, Highly specialised exhibition collection, expertly presented and written-up in an album, approx. 1000 stamps with lots of unusual material incl. errors, proofs, large multiples and interesting collateral. Highlights include 3c margin block of 15 showing full ‘LNL’ watermark, the constant plate varieties incl. narrow ‘A’ in Sarawak, stop after ‘three’ (SG#2a), etc, block of 6 imperf horizontally at bottom, etc, followed by a wonderful study of proofs and colour trials on the 1875s, postmark studies incl. early town cds types with Muka in blue on 2c mauve on lilac (#3) as well as Sibu, Limbang, Lawas, Miri, Betong, Bintulu, Baram, etc. Then 1888s defins with 2x complete series to $1 (#8/21), multiples incl. 32c block of four, 12c block of 12 and full sheets of 60 of the 1c and 2c, followed by the surcharges incl. 1899 4c on 6c green mint x10 inc. block of four and pair plus four used examples, 1899-1908 ‘postage postage’ with ten examples of the collar flaw on various values to the 25c, 1902 2c green on watermarked paper in error with plate number corner block of 6, 1918 series with further plate number blocks incl. unissued 1c slate blue, etc, etc. Catalogue
