1835 (Jun 3) Entire from Port Louis to France with large (approx. 37mm) “POST OFFICE / MAURITIUS” circular datestamp, previously unrecorded, endorsed per Nouvelle Louise with boxed “PAYS D’OUTREMER” hs adjacent, reverse with Bordeaux arrival cds, very fine
In the exhaustive work by Proud, there is a gap between the markings PS5 and PS6 for the years 1834 to 1838, where this cancellation now comfortably sits. A key piece for a serious classic Mauritius exhibit.
