1855 (Jul 8) Entire with delightful engraved letter header depicting Ramsgate Harbour (UK), from Hobart to Campbell Town with 1853 1d blue horizontal strip of four, pos.15-18, worn impression, thin hard white paper, with fine to huge margins showing the guillotine guideline at right (known only on one other stamp), cancelled by two “68” numerals with despatch cds below, vertical crease affecting the right stamp An attractive cover and a very rare positional item, possibly the only known example of the guillotine guideline on cover, a showpiece Provenance: Robinson (1984, lot 15) Expertise: Cert.
