1891 (Nov 5) Incoming envelope to the German Consulate from German Government in Dar-es-Salam at double letter rate with 1889-1900 20pf vertical pair tied by German office cds, reverse with Indian PO Zanzibar thimble cds and wafer seal of the German East Africa Government, very fine, showing that after the closure of the German office in Zanzibar, postage was compulsory for official mail
Note: After the German Post Office at Zanzibar closed in July 1891, German related mails transited either the Indian or French offices. Auction
