Description
1904-05 Two cards to St Petersburg, one used from VERKHE-UDINSK, Siberia, with red free-frank cachet: PERM HOSPITAL RUSSIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY. The other used from ST. TATARSKAYA, SIBERIAN RAILWAY, with violet free-frank cachet: No. 88 MOBILE FIELD HOSPITAL
Also included a postcard produced in England and postally used in 1909 from the Russian Harbin-Kwangchentze TPO (Manchuria) to Belgium entitled ‘Marauding Chunchuses’. These were basically mounted Chinese bandits that infested Manchuria. They formed good auxiliary troops for the Japanese, looting and burning Russian supplies and ammunition dumps in numerous hit-and-run raids behind the lines. Auction
