Violet cachet 2nd NERCHINSK TRANSBAIKAL COSSACK REGIMENT. The Dalin Pass was captured during the Japanese advance in July 1904. A Russian counter-attack (Battle of Sha-Ho) in October failed to secure the mountain passes and the right bank of the Tai-Tzu.
