1904 Port Arthur viewcard to Lifland Guberniya endorsed “From the Active Army” with red circular free-frank cachet of COURLAND FLYING DETACHMENT, a highly mobile Red Cross unit, posted at STAFF (GENERAL HQ) OF 3rd SIBERIAN ARMY CORPS/POST OFFICE ‘v’ 25 9 04, Yuriev arrival backstamp. The 3rd Siberian Army Corps was part of the Russian Eastern Force under General Stackelberg and at this time was engaged in the battle of Sha Ho, between Lyaoyang and Mukden.
