1898 Cover addressed to Rear Admiral Sir Gerard Noel KCMG on board H.M.S. Revenge at Kandia, franked by 1898 20pa violet officially perforated with control number “28”. Admiral Noel arrived in the Revenge on Sept 12th to supervise Turkish disarmament and surrender. His task completed he left on December 27th, adhesive therefore used before the date of issue, an exceptional item
