P&O MAILBOATS, A86: Front from seaman aboard HMS Furious to London with 1857 1d red tied by clear “A86” numeral, countersigned by commanding officer, minor faults
Note: HMS Furious saw action during the Trade Wars with China at the bombardment of Canton in 1857 and at the blockade of the Tacu forts near Tientsin on the Peiho river in 1858. Catalogue ref: Z43
