1850-51 Cottonreel 4 cents black on pale yellow, the late printing on very thin pelure paper, Townsend type C with tall oval rim, security initials “WHL” of postal official Lorimer, used with indistinct Demerara cds, cut square with good to large margins all round, natural wrinkles and small closed tear, remarkably fine condition for this infamously delicate stamp, extremely rare thus (SG £130’000 for cut square) Provenance: Champion, Gilbert 2005 Expertise: Cert.
