1880 (Feb 2) Advertising cover for the Royal Victoria Hotel in Nassau, sent to the USA with a very fine 1863 4d dull rose perf.14 neatly tied by « A05 » barred oval, sent before the Bahamas joined the UPU (they joined 1st July 1880) and hence franked on arrival with US pre-cancelled 3c postage due (Scott J3), New York arrival adjacent and reverse with despatch cds, some minor soiling and horizontal cover bend at foot, a little reduced at left, very scarce with US postage dues as they were only issued in 1879 leaving a 13 month window of usage let alone on an illustrated cover.
