1858 (December 10th) Folded packet letter sent from St. Johns, Newfoundland to Greenock, Scotland, endorsed in manuscript « per Prince Albert » showing a circular « GALWAY / B / DE 17 / 58 » transit datestamp, plus straight line Galway « SHIP LETTER », and a circular « ST. JOHNS-NEWFOUNDLAND /PAID / DEC 10 / 1858 » all alongside, an important exhibition showpiece. One of two usages of the Galway Ship Letter handstamp yet recorded and the only one on cover.
