Description
1811 (February 20th) Folded entire from Arran Quay to Blackpitts (bankruptcy of Beresford & Ball) sent within the Dublin Penny Post, showing a black clear strike of the 2-line « QUENN ST / PENNY POST » with unusual error for QUENN for QUEEN, and « 1 » hs of the Dublin Penny Post, the letter is backstamped with a deep red oval « 8 O’CLOCK Mn » timestamp and a brown « FE 21 » ds, a very fine and extremely rare showpiece. This is one of the two usages yet recorded of the QUENN error.
