1759 (November 1st) Folded letter sheet from a sailor on board « Ship Ajax St. George » to London showing an unframed « SHIP » of Limerick, with matching second type (large uniform letters) provincial town namestamp of « LIMERICK », rate « 9 » (1d Captain’s gratuity + 8d double to Dublin + 12d double Dublin to London), a wonderful and important Ship letter usage. The only known recorded usage of this type of Limerick Ship handstamp. Vente aux enchères
