Registered entire letter from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, via overland mail with double rate in manuscript « Pg 250 » charged on dispatch, « Segura » framed within two « # » and denoting registration, boxed « S. Paulo » hs in brown, with reverse showing annotated « Pg. o Pte do Correio » and accompanying signature of the post office employee « Abreu »; slight tropical imperfections not detracting from the attractive appearance. Pre-philatelic registered mail is very rare.
