1913 8d Pair of large master bromides, the first dated « 30.12.12 », 96x129mm, with highlights added to the King’s portrait and modified letters of « POSTAGE » and « REVENUE » (the angles of the letters represented on this mock up being very close to the finished design), and the second dated « 9.4.13 », 100x125mm, showing these completed changes, a rare pair of working proofs giving an insight to the design process, exhibition items 1913 8d Large master design bromides. Very fine example of Eve’s original artwork dated « 30.12.1912 » with highlights added to the King’s portrait and modified letters of « POSTAGE » and « REVENUE », the angles of the letters represented on this mock up being very close to the finished design. Offered with a second bromide of these completed chages dated « 9.4.1913 ». A rare pair of working proofs giving a unique insight into the design process.
