The David Feldman team are not only a group of highly knowledgeable and experienced stamp auctioneers, but passionate and dedicated collectors as well. Below we take a look at the collections of several of the David Feldman philatelists as well as highlighting their love for the hobby through their philatelic pursuits outside of the office.

David Feldman FRSPL RDP(I) was honoured to exhibit his “Emerald” collection at the Royal Philatelic Society in London in December 2025. He displayed over 30 frames to over 100 members and guests. Unusually for an exhibition collection, David collects imperforate green stamps of the world, which includes many important rarities. He now displays in geographical regions such as Europe (including Great Britain Embossed 1s, Greece Large Hermes Heads, Canada 1857 7 1/2d, Swiss Geneva Cantonal stamps (of course!), several German States and Italian States issues, etc.), Americas (such as USA 1851 10c Washington, British Guiana cotton-reel, Chile 1862 20c, Bolivia 1867 5c Condor, etc.) and Asia (such as Tibet, Japan, French Colonies, and so on).

Marcus Orsi has been collecting Ireland since he was 6 years old. He has had many collections that have come and gone (Greenland Parcel stamps and Large Hermes Heads to name just a couple) but Ireland has remained his passion, which finally culminated in his first competitive exhibit at Stampa in Dublin in October 2025. His collection of Ireland Transition Period 1922-25 earned him a Gold medal. He has future plans to exhibit his Irish Revenues and Railway letter stamps.

Ricky Verra FRPSL was invited to display his collection to the Great Britain Philatelic Society at Royal at the end of January 2025. His collection of the 1887-1900 Jubilee Issue and their overprints has been formed over 20 years and, having feverishly worked in his spare time (and especially over Christmas), managed to get all the items out of their shoeboxes, stockbooks and albums to mount a display of (nearly all) of his collection for the first time in over 24 frames. Although he has never exhibited competitively (yet), he has previously displayed small portions of his collections at meetings of the GB Philatelic Society, the GB Overprint Society (of which he has also been editor of the journal for 5 years), the Society of Postal Historians and the West Indies Philatelic Study Group. He also has a dedicated website to the study of of this issue as well as related material.

Vivek Chopra‘s interests lie primarily in the classic issues of British India and the Indian Princely States such as Jhalawar, Jasdan, Orchha, Duttia and Bamra, as well as the Cape of Good Hope triangulars. His first ever exhibit was at Penpex 2023 with his collection of Hyderabad where it was awarded a large gold and reserve grand prize. He has also exhibited the Lion & Palm Essays of India and, his pride and joy, the Indian Princely State of Jhalawar at various shows around the USA. His research articles have appeared in journals such as India Post, The American Philatelist, and the Collectors Club Philatelist, covering topics from watermark varieties and printing papers to newly discovered postal cancellations. Vivek is also an active member of the philatelic community and participates in several organizations, including the Royal Philatelic Society London, the American Philatelic Society, the Collectors Club of New York, and the India Study Circle, among others.

Allan Westphall is a well established collector of the Netherlands East Indies and received a Gold medal at Hafnia 24 for his Pre-Philately 1817-1864. Allan is unique at David Feldman in that he started his own Facebook group for fellow collectors of Dutch East Indies, which now has over 2’200 members! His next exhibiting goal is taking his collection back to Indonesia to display at the Bandung international stamp show later in 2026. Allan has had articles published in the London Philatelist (four-times), Netherlands Philately and the Collector’s Club Philatelist.
