1898 Insured registered cover from Jeddah to Medan, Netherlands East Indies, carrying 1pi pale blue and 2pi yellow-brown, tied Jeddah double ring cds 7 June 1898, also Recommandé and boxed ASSURE (insured) on front. On reverse unframed Aden reg. mark 11 June and a striking Netherlands Consulate in Jeddah hand stamp, also Singapore transit 2 July and Medan arrival 4 July 1898. A scarce and impressive example of registered and insured mail from Jeddah.
