1856ca. envelope from Jerusalem to Vienna, sent before the post office there was open and showing a most unusual manuscript « Jerusalem » above two-line BEYRUT/ 17. Nov. date stamp, at right manuscript 12/9 charge paying the 21 kreuzer due (9 inland and 12 sea mail), arrival backstamp. A very fine, clear example of this rare combination that would exhibit well for the Palestine or Lebanon collector. Hochleutner Cert (2003)
