Lot 81244 – 1940 cover with seven King Carol II imperforate stamps

Seven imperforate stamps from five different sets (1939 « Centenary of the Birth of King Carol I, » 1937 « 25th Anniversary of the Federation of Romanian Sports Clubs, » 1939 « 9th Anniversary of the Accession of King Carol I » [Saint George], 1939 « Romanian Railways, 70th Anniversary, » and 1938 « Birth Centenary of Painter Nicolae Grigorescu ») on a registered local cover, favor-cancelled in Bucharest on 3/2/1940, with arrival on the reverse. Only 200 of each stamp were produced for King Carol II, a well-known stamp collector, and few covers feature such a large number different stamps.
