Murray at Cap Haitien to his family in Glasgow with 1842 entire carried privately to Turks Islands where posted as a packet letter and rated 1/-, arriving in Falmouth where green LEEWARD ISLANDS F applied, a further entire carried privately and posted at Dover, an August entire with 1s5d charge for unpaid letter from West Indies and 1843 entire routed via Havana bearing large Cap Haitien date stamp of British Office. All the entires contain long letters detailing the troubles encountered by the writer, not least from the earthquake and fever.
