Lot 66033 – New Zealand 1936 Bradbury Wilkinson essays
1936 Bradbury Wilkinson tamp-size undernominated engraved essay die proofs with portrait of King Edward VII facing three-quarters to left, each with frame and inscriptions as subsequently adopted for the KGVI 1/2d to 9d, respectively in carmine (with the portrait of the King in military uniform) and in blue-green (with portrait of the King in garter robes). The pair inset in a single piece of grey card (176 x 125mm). A most attractive unique item. Note: Illustrated on the front cover of the sale of the De La Rue archive by Spink in Dec 2000.
