Austrian Field Post in Romania (Levant): 1856 Crimean War, Austrian occupation in Moldavia (Focsani). Letter sent on 13/09/1855 from Focsani to Paris, France, struck with fine circular “K. K. FELDPOSTAMT / 3s. Ae. Cs.” cds of the Field Post Office of the 3rd. Army Corps in Focsani in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 737), via Hermannstadt. Red notation of the Austrian rates and taxed on arrival with decimes, double the letter rate postage due. Very fine condition, very rare. Cert Holcombe 1993.
