1910 PONAPE Provisional with double overprint on postcard from 12th July 1910. The postcard showing the House of the Governor-Doctor. The stamp is listed in Michel under 7 Pv DD, double print, due to the strong shift it looks like a triple overprint on this stamp. Michel mentions that shifted overprints exist and are relatively rare, but coincidence. Nevertheless a beautiful copy of this variety. One of the rarest items of the German Colonies where only a handful items exist. To our knowledge the last item (from the same correspondence) was auctioned in Germany October 2021 and realised a hammer price of €22’500 + commission. This stamp is signed by expert Thier. Recently recovered from a collection that had been in storage sinex before the Second World War (Michel €29’000).
