Lot 60155 – 1852 1/2a Red. A classic example of the ½ Anna Red

1852 1/2a Red Scinde Dawk on paper and affixed on piece. These iconic early stamps were produced on sealing wax wafers, and are therefore almost invariably found cracked or damaged due to their fragile nature; sound examples are of the utmost rarity. The present example is heavily cracked, chipped, and broken, yet remains a representative specimen of this important classic issue. A rare and historic stamp, seldom encountered in any condition.
