1917 Incoming mail to H. St. J. Philby. Philby, already based in Iraq, was sent as the British representative to the Ruler of Nejd Sultan Abdul Aziz, leaving Basra in late October 1917 for Riyadh. This cover, from his wife in India (dep. Bombay 8.12) was re-directed to the Political Agent in Kuwait and forwarded to Philby, who was in Taif till Dec. 28th and in Jeddah from Dec. 31st to Jan. 14th, a very rare cover. Vente aux enchères
