RARE « TOO LATE » POSTMARK

1852 Folded entire to Copenhagen dated St. Croix 29 July 1852 sent to St.Thomas on the 31st after closing of the mail bag for SS « Magdalena ». As no « Late fee » was paid, the letter was held in the PO until the next Packet, carried by SS « Medway » which left on 17 August for arrival at Southampton on 5 September, extremely rare strightline « TOO LATE » on reverse, apparently only two recorded, very fine
