Gupta Empire, Chandragupta II, c. 380-413, AV dinar, 7.90 g. (19 mm). Obverse: ‘lion slayer’ type; king wearing loin cloth and sash, in very dynamic pose with right leg raised, holding the bow in his left hand, and firing an arrow at the lion to the right. Reverse: Lakshmi sitting with folded legs on a lion with head raised to the left, holding a lotus flower and dropping coins with right hand; Brahmi legend to right sinhavikkramah and tamgha to left.
