Gupta Empire, Skandagupta, c. 455-467, AV dinar 9.23 g. (21 mm). Obverse: ‘archer’ type, king standing left, holding longbow in left hand, arrow in right, Garuda standard at left, Brahmi legend under arm, Skanda, circular Brahmi legend around. Reverse: Lakshmi seated facing on lotus, holding diadem and long-stemmed lotus left, tamgha to left, Brahmi legend at right, kramadityah. Kumar TOTGE 2024, Class II.

About EF, some lustre shows through.

A heavy coin for this issue. With superb details on the king’s outfit.
