Description

Gupta Empire, Chandragupta II, c. 380-413, AV dinar, 7.92 g. (20 mm). Obverse: ‘horseman’ type; king riding horse left, circular Brahmi legend around. Reverse: Lakshmi seated left on stool, holding diadem and long-stemmed lotus, Brahmi legend at right, Ajitavikrama, tamgha left, dotted border around. Kumar TOTGE 2024, Class I, variety A4, 411 (this coin illustrated).

VF with very good details.

The very rare horseman type that shows both goddess and king with halo (the latter with a crescent above).
