Gupta Empire, Chandragupta II, c. 380-413, AV dinar, 7.93 g. (21 mm). Obverse: ‘lion slayer’ type; king with one foot placed on a lion to right and shooting an arrow directly into its mouth. Reverse: Lakshmi sitting in the satvasana pose on couchant lion, holding diadem in left hand and a lotus flower in her right, with Brahmi legend to right. Kumar TOTGE 2024, Class III, A10, 479 (this coin illustrated).
EF, well-defined details on the figures, lustrous surfaces, linear dig under the right foot of the lion slayer, possibly from the strike. 3 tiny test marks on the edge..
