1840 2d Blue, Plate 1 (SI–TL) Exceptional Block of Eight, Used


A remarkable multiple, this block of eight from Plate 1, positions SI–TL, is presented in a deep, rich shade and remains used on fragment, securely tied by fine black crisp Maltese Cross cancellations. The block displays good to large margins all round and is of excellent overall quality, combining strong colour with outstanding visual balance.


A most attractive and highly significant block, seldom encountered in such size and condition.
