1865-67 9d straw pl.5 KL line perf.14 abnormal, hinged to card inscribed by Sir Edward Denny Bacon and signed by King George V, reading « This 9d Plate 5. Gt. Britain stamp was taken from my collection and given to the National Philatelic war funds auction in September, 1915 ».

A very rare example as only 36 examples of plate 5 were taken from the imperforate registration sheet and perforated for the 1884 Stamp Committee presentation books. This also being the only stamp that the King ever sold in his lifetime. A magnificent showpiece for the Surface Printed collector.
