Channel Islands: 1843 (Jan 11) Entire from Alderney to London « Via Southampton » bearing 1841 1d. red, Pl. 23, OK, neatly tied by a fine strike of the Alderney Maltese cross in black, the reverse hand stamped « SHIP LETTER / SOUTHAMPTON » in black; the cover with some light toning, though not affecting the fine appearance of this very rare usage. Cert B.P.A. (1991).
