1pi Claret, perforation 13, from the worn plate showing without dot between « P » and « E » of « PE », on 1866 (31.7) envelope from Alexandria to Tanta, tied « retta » cancel with « POSTE VICE-REALI EGIZIANE / ALESSANDRIA » cds in red alongside, arrival bs, an attractive and rare usage of the perforation 13.
Note: The red cancel was only in use for 51 days as per Peter Smith page 153.
