Lot 10554 – Mexico 25c lithographed Zapotlan postal fraud on cover

Mexico 25c lithographed dark orange (consignment 38-1866), fine to large margins (knocked corner), on cover from Zapotlán to Colima, previously used and successfully re-used out of Mexico district to defraud the post office, dated November 6, 1866 and tied by ovoid « ADMON DE CORREOS / DE ZAPOTLAN / EL GRANDE » hs (Schatzkès #442). Postal frauds are very hard to find, let alone on cover and this attractive.
