1844, 60r black, type IIa, worn impression, applied on back of single weight overland entire letter from Serro to Rio de Janeiro, tied by « C./DO/SERRO. » double circle (Ayres 1562), with arrival cds alongside (infrequently seen), showing manuscript date of dispatch on front on 16 July 1848. Stamp torn on opening as usual when applied on back and repaired. Two « Inclinados » covers noted with this cancellation, being unique in black; letters bearing the « Inclinados » are scarcer than the covers with « Bull’s Eyes ».
